In the hot So Cal summer of 1977, I remember filming the movie Grease, with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. My part was pretty small, the jock boyfriend of Sandy ( Olivia ). We were filming all summer around LA's high schools, Venice, Hollywood etc. The big dance scene was filmed over three days towards the end of shooting. God it was so hot and the gym had no air conditioning. We all went outside during the breaks just to get some air. that's when I met Wendy. We were standing there during one of these breaks just pouring sweat. I think she said something like ' aren't we glamorous ' we both laughed and did our best to see the humor in those long hot days of filming. Just to think how big and long lasting this movie has become is unbelievable. We were young and naive in some respects, not realizing that Wendy and I were part of such a huge franchise. I will always remember that summer and my friend Wendy, for sharing that experience with me.
