My wonderful mother Wendy Segall is turning 55 this New Years Eve and I am creating a blog for her birthday. The blog would not be complete if you were not involved. Please take some time to write a little something about Wendy. A memory, a funny story….ANYTHING and please attach a picture of some sort.
We all know how much Wendy goes out of her way to be creative and make everyone feel special. Please take the time to do the same for her, as she will treasure this forever.
Remember this is a HUGE SURPRISE, so keep it hush, hush! The Sooner the better! Thank you all so very much!

Morgan

Me
Wendy is wonderfully warm and generous
Life often leads us on a path that isn't always planned.
When I found myself pregnant at the age of twenty with no help, I was relieved to find The Cradle Adoption Agency in Evanston, Illinois.
I was even more relieved when I found that I'd be able to stay for my last trimester with a family nearby.
That family was Wendy's wonderfully warm and generous clan.
I was with them for almost two years??
Wendy was ten when I arrived and was as outgoing and brilliant then as she is now; forty-five years later.
I was able to attend junior college, sew, create and learn that love makes a difference.
At one point, Wendy was fifteen??, she came out to stay with me in San Jose, CA.
She jumped right in with me as I was attempting to sell a product/Stik Snak at the San Jose County Fair.
Alas, the artichoke heart. cheese, tomato, salami, shrimp and cream cheese on a skewer was too healthy for a County Fair. The French Fry guy did well.
We had the best time though and my guess is that when she returned to school, not many other classmates could report that they'd done what she had done.
Wendy Segall, you are beautiful inside and out.
Happy Birthday.
I love you, Madeline

Wow, another birthday!
Dear Wendy
Wow, another birthday , are we really getting that old? L Perhaps but loving it with friends like you! Your darling daughter wanted to have us all write an experience we have had with you through the years. There are many but a couple stuck out in my mind, not including all the warm thoughts and your loving smile!
The first is both serious and funny. You were riding with me (I think it was a LP Grant ). On the way back we were talking about your cancer and what you had gone through. I was in awe of your strength and how you were handling the whole ordeal. We started talking about your next steps and just what those should be. I was amazed how positive and calm you were; your handling the whole thing with such grace! As I pulled up to your house, you said, “Take a look!” … before I could say anything, you pulled up your shirt. It really took us out of the building seriousness; we both started laughing. You took something somber and turned it into joy. I thought, “Wow! Wendy is great! So down to earth and always looks for the silver lining!
The second is your 40th birthday. I was so happy and privileged to be invited. I looked for forward to it for some time. It was over-the-top fun and so creative. It was overflowing with your personality. I loved sharing and spending that special day, and I hope we can spend many more together.
My other memories include you always trying to let me know my kids would be alright, and how they would find their way … I loved those talks! You always made me feel better about things when I was down.
Cheers to a wonderful birthday all the best – lots of Hugs and kisses!!
Xoxo
You are a “Class Act” and “One of a kind”
Wen,
You are a “Class Act” and “One of a kind”. You are the “Go-to” girl for a creative idea and the party planner “extraordinaire”. We have shared so many times wonderful times together – Loving every moment of our “Girls’ Trips” from the Embassy Suites at Mandalay Bay to our London Trip. It doesn’t matter where we go (rumor has it that Disneyland is next which goes to show you that we will always be young at heart [or just broke]HA!). We always have a blast.
Wendy, I feel so very fortunate that you are a part of my life. So happy birthday my dear friend and lets keep on making those “memories” (just a suggestion - Italy might be nice for the next trip!!) I love you.
xxxooo Ellen

It seems like just yesterday...
Wendy,
Happy 55th Birthday! It seems like just yesterday that you and Stu gave me my first job (bringing in your trash cans for $1 per week), bought me my very own robe to keep at your house so that I could be comfortable when I visited and shared with me the wonders of MJ’s “Thriller” (which I watched, literally, hundreds of times while nestled up in your water bed)–and now I have a family of my own.
Today we live in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of young families—one which reminds me very much of the environment we were all so fortunate to be a part of on Teesdale. Oftentimes, when I interact and play with the kids in our neighborhood, I think to myself “Oh my gosh, I am now Wendy and Stu—I am the ADULT that they look up to and run across the street to hang out with.” I can only hope to be the same kind of genuinely-interested, loving and thoughtful role model that you were to me as a child, and continue to be to me to this day.
Thank you for being you—an amazing friend (in particular, to my mom), mother (not only to your own two wonderful children, but to me, as well) and host. We love you and look forward to sharing many more memorable moments together.
All our love…

Happy 55th Birthday
Happy 55th Birthday to the hippest, coolest, kindest, funniest, hottest, smartest, bestest aunt in the world!
I love you Wendy and I feel so blessed to have such an inspirational person like you in my life. Since the day you joined our family, you have added so much fun to get togethers, holidays
etc..
I have learned so much from you over the years … you are an expert at everything from being an amazing mom to Cory and Morgan, the best wife Stu could have dreamed of,
the most creative hostess, a true friend and so much more. I have watched you handle lots of bumps in the road over the years and have always marveled at how you have
handled these instances with tremendous stamina, grace and dignity. I love you so much and I hope you have a truly memorable birthday. You deserve the best cause you are the best.

Wendy-
Out of all the great memories I've had in San Diego, number one was with you.
I remember one of the first times I was at the diner. I was nine or ten years old, ordering from the kids menu. In a big font, the menu read, "KIDS MEAL- CIRCLE WHAT YOU WANT TO EAT!"
I thought for a moment, and circled chocolate chip pancakes. You looked at what I circled and picked up another crayon. In horror, I looked as you circled 'kids'.
Thank you SO much for everything, including your witty sense of humor.
You are one of few adults who treats me like my age and went above and beyond whenever I stayed at your house. I never felt like a guest in San Diego. I always felt like I was in a second home.
I love you. Happy birthday and thank you for being… you.
-Miles
Wendy,
It is hard to believe you are turning 55! You are one in a million and thank you for all you do and have done for me and my family.
Lot of Love,

Dear Auntie Wendy,
Happy birthday! You are an amazing Aunt, like you mean so much to me! I hope this coming year to be a really awesome, healthy, and happy time for you and everyone around you :D
I remember when you first got your new car, and that day you took me straight to Target and got stuff for me. It really meant a lot that you were thinking of me even after buying the new car. There are so many times you've made me so happy, at Thanksgiving, when we visit San Diego… you're just the coolest, ginger aunt in the entire world! I love you so much and I hope you have an amazing time with the people you love. Lots of birthday wishes sent over here we all miss and love you so much!
