Happy birthday Wendy - one of my pleasures in being a part of Las Patronas was in meeting and getting to know you. I remember my first year in 2003 meeting you at the warehouse and I was struck by how welcoming you were to all of us newbies. I felt your sincerity and genuine care in getting to know us and giving us advice and help in finding our way around this new organization.
This progressed into sitting next to or near you in the general meetings and feeling a deep appreciation of your experience and wisdom.
Then came working under you when you were the JB co-chair and watching you "do your thing" and doing it well. Remembering the stories of your being historian
while I was historian and the advice to "not wait and do it all in August - what are you out of your mind??!!"
The most special time though was working with you when you were JB Chair and watching you do your magic - I was truly in awe.
In the years that I have known you and especially working with you in LP I have always been struck b your generosity of heart, concern for others, doing the best you can, giving your all, motivating others (and yes making us dance at the GM)
and never losing sight of why we were in LP - helping our beneficiaries.
Thank you for being yourself, opening up your heart to me in friendship and your utter kindness and love. You lead by example and I have always loved you and admired you for that.
I treasure being your friend and have always appreciated our friendship.
